No Matter Where You Attend, This College Advice Is Prudent
No Matter Where You Attend, This College Advice Is Prudent College is more than just the transition from high school to another school. College is a different world and will prepare you for your life as an adult. It's important to take all factors into consideration and prepare yourself for whatever may come. If the campus you are attending is large, it is important to familiarize yourself with it during the first week. You should know how to get to the cafeteria, library, the Professor's offices, college security, study rooms and the student center. Knowing the location of places you have to go saves time. A credit card is often necessary, particularly if you are going to school far away from home. However, be smart about your decision. Research your options and select a card that has a low interest rate. Also, make sure there aren't any annuals fees and don't be tempted by high credit limits. Those are just a recipe for disaster. When classes begin, it's important you know all your teachers. Learn how they can be contacted, their office location, and what their office hours are. As you develop a relationship with your professor, you will have a greater chance of getting the information and help you may need. Are you under a lot of pressure for a certain class you are not sure you will pass? You should talk to your academic adviser or to your instructor about credit no credit. Most schools will let you take one class where you will get credit but your grade will not impact your GPA. Become a morning person. There is a lot of socializing in college, and if you are serious about your studying, that socializing can make it tough to concentrate in your dorm at night. Instead, try getting up bright and early before everyone else so that you can study in peace. Now you've got to start planning, since you have a better idea what to expect. It's best to be informed about college before you start.
